Utility-Scale Solar Plants

Take a look at our recent utility-scale solar plants around the world.

Solar Power Plant

Perth, Australia (40MW)

The Perth solar power plant, located on over 195 acres of land in Western Australia, in Vincent district, highlights the immense potential of utility-scale solar in assisting Australia in transitioning to a renewable energy future.

The 40MWac power plant, which is powered by 432,564 of EA-325 advanced thin film solar modules, will generate 81.16 GWh of clean solar electricity per year. That plant generates electricity with zero emissions during the operation, powers 66,500 average Australian homes and displaces over 64,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions per year.

Commissioned in January of 2015, the construction of the plant was undertaken by EPC, Energy America & Renewatech group out of Poland. The power plant will supply electricity through the grid to Western Power Distribution Company of Perth for a period of 25 years.

Owner: Western Power Limited
EPC Contractor: Energy America Inc & Renewatech (Poland)
Type: Fixed Tilt, Ground Mount

Project Benefits

  • Will displace 64,000 metric tons of CO2 equivalent emissions per year
  • No water is used for electricity generation
  • Independence from fuel imports
  • Development of the local supply chain

Solar PV Plant

California (28.1MW)

Energy America completes a utility-scale Solar PV plant in California with a total capacity of 28.1 MW, EA undertook the Development of this 28.1 MW solar PV plant cluster, from the Greenfield development to construction, connection, and operation & maintenance.

As a testament to the superb engineering skills and experience of EA, the construction of the cluster was completed in 15 weeks. With an installed capacity between 4.4 and 6.63 MW, with phase installation, simultaneously in California to date.

Type: Ground Mount Fixed
Project Size: 28.1MW
Homes Powered: 18,000
Tons Co2 Displaced Annually: 14,900 tons

PV Plant

Kenya (11MW)

Energy America completed the construction of a PV plant in Kenya, an 11 MW power plant located in Kenya. The subsequent operation and maintenance (O&M) services will be managed by EA as well. The project is a result of a strategic agreement between EA and local power authority. The plant was built using Trina Solar modules, 72 cell mono technology to allow for greater efficiency at high temperatures and during hours of low sun exposure.

Homes Powered: 5,000
Tons Co2 Displaced Annually: 8,900 tons

Two Solar PV Plant

Mexico (15.6MW & 6.8MW)

Energy America demonstrated its continued commitment to Mexico in the development, construction, and operation management of two solar PV plants for a fund managed internally. One of the PV plants, which is in Mexico, has the capacity of 15.6MW with 66,080 modules. The other plant is in Sonora, which has a production capacity of 6.8MW and consists of 28,320 modules.

This project was important for the creation of jobs in Mexico. The construction of the two solar plants involved a total of 200 workers. In addition, the continuing operation and maintenance (O&M) services will be provided by EA and will employ more than 10 people. Will displace 34,000 metric tons of CO2 equivalent emissions per year.
