Project Description
Project Overview
As part of its pipeline expansion in Latin America, EA is planning utility-scale solar PV farms with a combined capacity of nearly 800 MW. This includes a ~500 MW development in Chile and a ~300 MW development in Brazil, both targeting upcoming government tenders.
Status & Timeline
The projects are currently in the development pipeline, with EA actively responding to tenders and securing land options. No ground-breaking has yet occurred. If awarded, commercial operation dates are anticipated between 2027 and 2028.
Technical Details
The plants will deploy EA’s latest-generation TOPCon solar panels, with the potential integration of battery storage to meet grid requirements for 20% firm capacity. This approach ensures both compliance and grid stability.
Partners
EA is in discussions with local partners while also engaging with international organizations. The company has coordinated with the USTDA and joined trade missions to strengthen positioning. On August 20, 2025, EA participated in the “Energy Business Opportunities in the Southern Cone” webinar as part of its regional market strategy.
Description
These projects aim to support Latin America’s clean energy transition, aligning with Chile’s goal of reaching 70% renewables by 2030 and Brazil’s increasing demand for reliable renewable supply. EA’s strong government relations, bankable U.S. technology, and NASA-inspired reliability provide a competitive edge in tender processes.
Verification
Current verification is based on EA’s participation in regional trade events and tender notices, including subscription to Global Tenders updates on August 13, 2025. Formal verification will follow upon tender awards, as no public filings have been made at this stage.
